Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet Reviews

The pictures in this are beautiful. I love this book. A good version of the play for younger readers, with modern, easy to read text, but the dialogue is still in it's traditionally Shakespearian form.

Although I didn't like the fact that the lovers died in the end, I found it much more interestming than I thought. Through learning about how their death came about, I also learned alot about the renaissance period.
The Stranger :: The Prophet of Yonwood :: The Moorchild :: Derailed :: I Heard the Owl Call My Name

I have no idea what they are saying, english is a secound langush for me and the english they use it's old and hard to understand, i guess that it would be a really good book if i knew what they are saying but sence i don't know i will gusst say its ok.

This classic tale of love and fate is amazing. I could read it over and over again with out getting bored. Timing is everything in this book and I mean everything. It took me a while to understand the messages behind the words but once I caught on I needed no more help.
Stephanie
I had to read this. I know it is the most famous of the Shakespearean plays but I think it is his worst one. I don't know if I am swayed in this opinion by the fact it has been killed and overdone time and time again. But in the setup, use of characters and themes...it is just terrible.

The ultimate love story - I watched the ballet play at the Okanogan Valley Opera House accompanied by the Victoria Symphony - absolutely mesmerizing! Beautiful, heartbreaking, emotional - recovery time took the rest of my life. I have to read it again.
Henry
Beautiful, but not my favourite Shakespeare. Too whimsical

Everything anyone needs to know about love is contained in R&J.

The text is nice to read, however when broken apart.. it's just my generation on a bad day.

Lovely illustrations and retold in such a way that makes it both interesting and easier to understand the story of "Romeo and Juliet" for middle-age readers.

Sandra
Her only novel, composed in the last years of her life, while confined to her house as an invalid; an autobiographical memoir told by a highbred horse named Black Beauty

I love Shakespeare but this play and the characters in the play annoy me
Judith Wills
Lovely, obviously. Although, again, better to watch than read - the language drags a bit in the written form, as we are not used to it. Best acted.
Joanna

I actually rate all of Shakespeare 5 stars (and further off the scale), but this is one of my least favorite plays by him. I just thought the whole plot was stupid and obvious.
